Star Wars Movies Ranked (No Spoilers for TFA)

Star Wars has been a very essential part of my movie fandom. Ever since the marketing for Revenge of the Sith came out, I’ve been a Star Wars fan. I’ve seen all the movies countless times and have enjoyed all of them to some degree. So it’s fitting that after the release of The Force Awakens that I give you my personal ranking. However, I didn’t feel like I had a set opinion on the after my first viewing.  However, after seeing The Force Awakens twice, I believe I can safely give you my order of Star Wars movies from worst to best. As usual, this is my personal opinion so if you have a different list, that’s awesome and no one will take that away from you. Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation Review

This movie was the reason that I actually started watching all of the Mission Impossible movies. When the trailers came out, I was very intrigued because the action looked interesting and apparently Tom Cruise was hanging on a side of a plane. So about a month before this movie came out, I watched all the previous Mission Impossible movies.  After finishing all of the previous movies, I thought that the 3rd and 4th installments were very well done and was hoping that the next one would continue the trend. What I got was a movie that was even better than I expected. The action overall is better, the characters are at their best, the score is very well crafted,  and it’s honestly the most fun I had with the franchise. Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation is not just my favorite Mission Impossible movie, it’s one of my favorite action movies of all time.

Home Alone Review

Home Alone is one of those Christmas movies considered a classic, which is very funny because I didn’t watch this movie for a first time till about 3-4 years ago. My parents showed me a lot of Christmas movies as a kid as well as my elementary school teachers but for some reason, Home Alone  never came up. So finally on a December afternoon, I decided to watch this classic Christmas movie. Is it good or even great and is it deserving of its classic status? Well….continue reading to find out. Marvel Cinematic Universe Movies Ranked

Now that Phase 2 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is over, it’s the perfect time to rank the 12 Marvel Movies that have come out so far. I’m going to say that my rankings are somewhat abnormal compared to the general public. Among the good Marvel movies, my rankings might change depending on the day because they’re pretty much relatively equal in quality. Agree or disagree with my rankings? Jurassic World Review (some mild spoilers)

When Jurassic World was first announced, I like many others were excited. I was a huge Jurassic Park fan and enjoyed every movie that came out. To see a new one during my life time was an exciting prospect. When the first trailer came out, I was even more excited. The trailer suggested that the new film was going to go back to its roots yet introduce fresh new concepts. Then the second trailer came out, and my expectation decreased a bit. This one suggested a full fledged action movie and showed way too much. So when I went to the early screening of Jurassic World on the 11th of June, all I was expecting was a fun entertaining movie. I was not disappointed. There were some instances where this movie did recapture the original but the script suffers from undeveloped characters and themes as well as questionable direction in effects and cinematography in which this movie missed its full potential. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Review

I remember that a very long time ago, I played the 2d flash game Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time which was made to promote the PS2 game of the same name. I had to move the Prince through a maze and if he hit a hazardous object, I was treated to a bloody corpse of the prince. This scared me since I was relatively young at the time. The movie on the other hand was nothing like the basic flash game, for better or for worse. Since this is the only video game movie I have seen, I can’t say whether this is the best or worst video game movie ever. However, I do know that it’s damn entertaining, even with its flaws, and I’ll enjoy the ride every time I watch. Continue reading

Patton Revew

Patton is a movie my Dad loves, but I just never got around to see it even though my family owns a Blu-ray copy which is located 20ft away from the computer that I’m typing this review on. I’m surprised that I didn’t get around watching it until last week since I love WWII and biopic movies. It’s a movie that you’d expect from the 60’s and 70’s; it’s long full of dialogue, and doesn’t provide a lot of action scenes. This one however, provides a very compelling and accurate character study of one of the most famous and controversial generals of America, George Patton. Although this movie could’ve been shortened, there is a lot of substance here that makes the film great.
